Vocational and Career Education Academic Support

Students who enroll in a program offered for career credit of 450 hours or more must complete an entry-level examination within the first six weeks after admission into the program. The examination is designed to assess student mastery of basic skills. Assessment instrument used by EFSC is Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) 9 & 10 through December 2018, Complete Battery (TABE), with the TABE 11 & 12 being used for all TABE testing and re-testing effective January 2019.

The college has resources to help students prepare for these tests and/or to obtain remediation to achieve the basic skills necessary to be successful in the chosen career program.
