Summer Term 2020 Live Online Course Information

Most Summer 2020 classes originally planned as on campus face-to-face classes have been converted to Live Online classes. Some classes, such as certain labs, clinicals and other courses requiring hands-on work, may meet in small groups with the instructor on the campus where the class is scheduled. Regular Eastern Florida Online classes remain unaffected and will run as scheduled.

Infographic Version of This Live Online Web Page's ContentAs you look at classes on the EFSC Class Schedule and within the myEFSC Titan Web registration system, you will see Summer Courses with the course type listed as "Live Online" and "Online Course." Those listed as "Online Course" are the regular Eastern Florida Online classes without a specific day of the week listed.

Classes listed as "Live Online" still include designated days of the week and times of day that they would have met face-to-face. A Summer 2020 Live Online class may be taught by the instructor during the time when the class is originally scheduled; students need to check with the instructor and review the course syllabus to determine if it will be taught that way.

For a Live Online class, students will log in to the class during the scheduled day(s) and time(s) to participate virtually. For this reason, Live Online classes are not considered part of Eastern Florida Online. Students in a Live Online class must have reliable Internet access, a microphone and a webcam. Instructors will determine how any live video and audio components of the class will work and when within the originally scheduled class time. Other elements of the class, such as certain assignments, will happen without real-time interaction between the student and instructor.

Classes that still meet on campus for any part of term during Summer 2020 will follow appropriate CDC guidelines to ensure the health and safety of students and faculty. Some of these classes that meet partially online may transition back to face-to-face classes if restrictions on campus closures are lifted. "Live Online" courses do still list the Campus where the class would be held if it is later approved to meet in person, so factor the location into your course registration.
